With this, we all too often and unknowingly have tossed aside the rudder fooling ourselves into thinking that we are heading towards somewhere all the while lost at sea heading towards nowhere.
We find ourselves in an endless loop of throwing a hail Mary pass in hope of winning the lottery with our broken heart yet only to taste once again the waste basket of a million power ball tickets once filled with hope quickly dashed to what ifs.
I see this a lot when called to offer hospice care for broken dreams. It breaks my heart. In this, I always wonder… who flipped the switch? Who did this to you?
It’s funny how most everything always does come down to the heart of the matter and that in this, the heart of the matter will always be… the matter of the heart. Whatever the condition of one’s heart is, there they shall be too.
Like a rudder, the matter of the heart will either find you sailing on to your desired destination or lost at sea filled with complete desperation.
Traction creates momentum not desperation. Yet an honest response to desperation can lead to creating traction that in turn can lead to momentum and this could lead you to your desired destination.
The heart of the matter will always be the matter of the heart. If this be true than I ask you this… how’s yours?
